Yusuf Acar
Bachelor of Psychology (Hon.)
Yusuf was initially studying programming and was on a career path towards the IT industry. However, he soon discovered a deep passion for supporting others while volunteering with a youth organisation. Inspired by this experience, he chose to pursue a career in psychology. Yusuf has worked extensively as a school counsellor and school psychologist from 2017 to 2023. While also consecutively working in clinical and forensic psychology private practices across Sydney and Melbourne since 2020. He is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that empowers clients to move forward with strength and clarity.

Since first stepping into the world of mental health over 8 years ago, Yusuf has gained experience working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) clients, as well as a host of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Exposure Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy.

It is through these different therapeutic approaches that Yusuf is able to support clients suffering from a variety of psychological presentations, ranging from anxiety and depression disorders to neurodivergent and substance use disorders.
